The study included post-menopausal women from the ages of 45 to 62 that practiced a series of yoga poses very similar to that of Dr. Fishman's, "12 Yoga Poses for Osteoporosis." This sequence includes yogasana, pranayama, and relaxation sequences. In the study the group practiced this hour long program 4 days a week and after 6 months of monitoring these women, the study showed improvement in the density of their spine and hips.
